About Open Spiral
Most Open Spiral authors are practicing therapists, coaches, and teachers. The interior work they do with their clients is rarely directly visible and their methods aren’t often shared beyond the classrooms and consulting rooms in which they work.
At Open Spiral, we get the wisdom of these healers and way-showers onto the page and into the hands of seekers they may never meet.
That purpose came before the imprint did. Laura B. Fox started out helping authors develop their books through The Soul-Driven Author. When one of these authors asked Laura to oversee publishing her book, she first partnered with experts in the publishing industry to bring forth her own book so that she would understand the process.
Jacqueline Teoh’s Awaken Your Soul followed, with a Foreword by Robert Moss and praise from Sandra Ingerman. Then came Linda Ann Westman’s guide to self-love, Susan L. Herrmann’s Breaking Up with the Patriarchy with a Foreword by Four Arrows, and Mick Kubiak’s Inner Housekeeping: A Beginner’s Guide to Advanced Meditation.
The trust of those first Open Spiral authors was well placed. Herrmann’s book was named a Midwest Book Review Featured Selection and discussed on Handsome, the podcast hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin.
Laura continues to offer book coaching, collaborative writing, and editorial support through The Soul-Driven Author. This is a separate practice from Open Spiral. Submitting to Open Spiral is free and open to anyone. Publishing with Open Spiral does not require developing your book with The Soul-Driven Author, nor does working with The Soul-Driven Author guarantee publication with Open Spiral.
What We Publish
An open spiral symbolizes the nexus of spiritual reverence and scientific rigor. Our work is to publish books that keep that meeting place open.
We publish nonfiction that pairs lived experience with clear thinking, the kind that leaves a reader seeing themselves, or the world, differently by the last page.
The Partnership Model
Open Spiral is a hybrid publisher. We partner with our authors to create high-quality books, and we share royalties on more equitable terms.
We keep a small list on purpose, so every book gets our full attention.

Most Open Spiral titles are available to the trade through Ingram Content Group at standard wholesale terms: a 55% discount, returnable. Paperbacks can be ordered by ISBN through Ingram and IngramSpark.
